About our guides
Each and every guide with YES Tours NYC is licensed, and hand selected for their unique personalities, breadth of knowledge and rich work and life histories that help bring tours to life. Our guides all have a background in entertainment and/or education, offering up a tour environment unlike any other. Feel free to ask questions about anything from local entertainment and shows, to mass transit and hotels to restaurants and cafes along the way, as our local guides are true destination experts. All guides are also expert photographers who will help capture the day along the way on your phone or camera.
About the Owner
Robert was born and raised in NY, and went to University in CT. He has a degree in musical theatre performance and a degree in education. After school he starred in his own concert series at Lincoln Center, did 4 operas at the Met and then starred in his own TV show on the Weather Channel as one of America’s first TV tour guides He then moved into the cruise industry where he was a guide on 5 out of 7 continents and set foot on 6 out of 7 continents. Robert then moved to Miami to run Port Development and Tourism for most of the major cruise lines but sitting behind a desk didn’t agree with him. So after 3 years at the helm in Miami, rising to rank of Vice President overseeing port development and tourism around the world, he resigned to go “back home”. He then moved back to NYC, and fell in love with sharing NY and the USA with tourists. Robert is one of Trip Advisors top ranked guides with over 1,000 5 star reviews , and is deeply connected to NY. His great great grandmother came through Ellis Island (making him 5th generation) in 1902. He is 5th generation NY, but one parent is an immigrant making him also 1st generation NY. He lived through the events on 9/11/01 as a native New Yorker which allows Robert to share meaningful and personal accounts and connections. His education and entertainment backgrounds have made this job the perfect combination for Robert. His favorite part of his business is still meeting and greeting families like you and Robert is still one of the guides at YES Tours, so maybe you’ll see him when you book your next tour.
